After a series of backlash from fans about Ben Affleck to star as the caped crusader in the upcoming Superman and Batman film, the actor has finally responded.
Affleck dropped by at Jimmy Falon’s late-night show and talked about the controversy that surfaced around the globe after Fallon brought it up. The host and the actor were discussing about the latter’s kids when the superhero topic was opened up.
Affleck said that 'he’s a big boy and has handled shit'. The film outfit requested him not to use the Internet for a couple of days as fans worldwide ranted about the announcement, but the actor, as tough as he is, looked at the latest development happening around the internet and saw some irate comments.
The first comment was, 'Nooooooooo!'" Another comment posted was 'Kill himmmm!'" He then conveyed that you can’t say those negative things before the movie comes out. He said that “it doesn't matter what you think then, it matters what you think when you see the movie."
As what his buddy Matt Damon told in an interview, “he’s not playing King Lear- it's Batman! Certainly within his skill set," so don’t worry guys, everything is under control.
Affleck said in a report by E! that he's already excited to see how his three children will react to the movie when it finally hits theaters in July 2015 and watch it. He was quoted saying, "Every kid should see their dad as a superhero, right? It's so awesome, man."
Man of Steel 2 stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. The movie will open on July 17, 2015.
