The original Capcom’s zombie and suspense game Resident Evil will have a remake upgraded to 1080p. It will feature enhanced 3D models and textures, 5.1 surround sound, plus the option to switch between the classic 4:3 to the standard 16:9 widescreen resolutions, and reconfigured controls.

Capcom said, “The classic control scheme remains for fans of the original play style or there’s an alternative scheme where the character moves directly in the direction of the analogue stick, utilizing the standards of the current generation of gaming. Both the control scheme and the display options can be toggled between at any time during gameplay.”

Capcom's Tatsuya Kitabayashi and Yoshiaki Hirabyashi also said of the game, "We have been very careful to preserve the original atmosphere of the game...and are ensuring that no unnecessary changes will be made. The tempo and flow of the original game are an inherent part of its scary atmosphere so we have made the decision not to disrupt this tempo."

Most of the changes in the game will be more about the graphics. "When it comes to graphics, we didn't just want them to look better," Kitabayashi said. "We have taken the game apart, polished up all the different elements and carefully reassembled them in such a way that its original atmosphere shines through."

Resident Evil
will be release again in 2015 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Props to Capcom. Hey, SquareEnix, where the hell you at? How come Capcom has no problem remastering one of their bestsellers, being that there are more FF7 fans out there than than there are RE fans — no disrespect to Capcom when I say that, of course but I hope anyone who reads this gets the point.
